  • Overview

    Provides accurate information, assistance, and support to customers, commercial outside sales force, and other departments; quotes prices and purchases materials.  Applicant needs to be detailed oriented with computer skills including spreadsheets. This position will focus on Commercial Job Accounts. 

    Responsibilities

     

    1. Promotes PDI through courteous, efficient customer service and displays a positive attitude;

     

    1. Assists External and Internal Commercial Customers with special requests and problems (supply information, resolves complaints, etc.);

     

    1. Helps provide HIGH quality customer service;

     

    1. Provides accurate commercial bids and price quotations in a timely manner;

     

    1. Enters sales orders/credits and coordinates shipping with appropriate individuals, both inside and outside the company in order to meet our customers’ delivery requirements;

     

    1. Participate in vendor training events;

     

    1. Acquires return authorizations on special ordered items returned;

     

    1. Answers phones and emails in courteous manner and assists customers;

     

    1. Maintains open order report;

     

    1. Maintains well-organized commercial job quote files for easy future reference;

     

    1. Communicates to the purchasing department unexpected increases or decreases in demand for product;

     

    1. Prepares neat and professionally prepared commercial quotations and submittals following the customers’ specifications, communicating with the customer throughout the process;

     

    1. Works with purchasing to help with stock lighting material and maintain accurate forecasting when required;

     

    1. Learns and applies new product knowledge to enhance sales;

     

    1. Attains sales goals; acceptable gross margin dollars & percent;

     

    1. Remains current with changes in local commercial codes and consumer preferences; w/Outside Salesperson;

     

    1. Follows PDI policies and procedures;

     

    1. Presents a professional image at all times to customers and vendors;

     

    1. Identifies trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction;

     

    1. Practices honesty and integrity in customer and vendor relations;

     

    1. Maintains technical and computer capability to effectively use PDI programs and office software;

     

    1. Performs other duties as assigned;

    Qualifications

    • BS/BA or equivalent experience preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. College a plus. Minimum 2-3 years sales experience in wholesale primarily selling to commercial accounts or similar industry preferred. Experience in Customer Service is a plus. Candidate must be self-motivated, aggressive, and self-confident.
